Camping in Kilkenny at the CAMPHUB

More on the continuing saga ...mostly for fun. I am still discussing with Visa and CampHub. I hope they get the joke...even though it was not a joke...or wait a minute ..trying to stay there was a joke....here is the CampHub address I used because 1 phone number out of the 2 did not answer .. camphub@it_is_joke.com.

Thank you for booking with Camp Hub for the Bruce Springsteen weekend here in Kilkenny. We want to draw your attention to some important information before you come to try to sleep at Camp Hub.

Please read through the list below, everything you need to avoid is here. If you require any more information about anything, please feel free to complain, won't matter, speak to the Camp Hub team once you arrive if you can find them......

 

 

Important Information

 

1.       Check in time is 11am Sat and Sun, 2 hours after you need. Check out is 10am Sunand Mon

2.       Parking spot available to each patron, please follow directions of stewards once you arrive on site, for directions see here http://www.thehubkilkenny.ie/directions

3.       Please do not bring any clothes or chickens to Camp Hub, should you require to put any items in cattle up area, please ask staff on arrival, find them with the 11 security patrols out smoking.

4.       Please remember to bring your Sheep counting tickets, Camp Hub auction form,visa card, towel, toiletries, sleeping equipment, even though sleeping is not possible except outside near garbage.

5.       No alcohol is permitted to be brought on site, bar will be open from 12-6pm on Sat and Sun – serving beer and wine..so get very drunk BEFORE you roll into someone's tent. 

6.       Restaurant on site is open from 7.30am – 6pm Sat and Sun When you are not here.....

7.       Showering times advised on arrival, line up at the hose in back. NO HAY OR STRAW,

8.       Any damage done to Camp Hub tents will incur a fine or castration. 

9.       Only persons wearing Camp Hub wristband will be allowed entry to campsite, the sorting pens.and on to shuttle buses – if lose your wristbands you can be branded. Pick Cow or Sheep please.

10.   Shuttle buses will run from 11am to 3am Sat and Sun, they will run in a constant loop according to demand except when really needed, then call our closed number and ..well just get Morris Taxi. 

11.   Please see map at Camp Hub to see drop off, pick up points, you guess is better than mine.

12.   Bottled water will be on sale at Camp Hub €22 plus Ę 9 deposit.

13.   And most of all…. Remember to take care and enjoy yourself this weekend! ..should you survive.

Here are the SLEEPING PENS... This one is for sheep. The other for cows, no bull . I picked to count sheep for better sleep.... Besides the manure was not as deep.

Here is my favorite flyer off their front door. Gee...sign me up!?

My other roomate/tent mate decided to take her pad outside near the Garbage Dumpster Area. SE says the birds kept the rats away...and only a few sheep and cow dung piles around so did not smell as bad as inside. This felt like a brother/sister homeless under the bridge situation. In fact several people checked to see of she was breathing as they walked by.

Of course they did open the small door at about 2 am ..just enough to let in ..a bit of "fresh air " ..,smoke from the group of Security Staff outside.

As to the tent size..many had their feet sticking out the door because pretty small. And two people fills sideways...you must turn over at same time.

- some toilets are damaged but paper is there most of the time, no papertowels for handwashing (but you´ll bring you´re own), be sure to share the soap, because when its out, we dont give you more. 
- chairs are there to share, so for 400 people there are about 30, but don´t use them between 0-6 am if you get one
- people might not know that its an sleeping-and relaxingarea so don´t disturb while they have a party
- If you´ll be hungry after your concert, our restaurant is closed. Booth on a fun fair is around : hotdog only €6
- all this little service you´ll get for €100 one night or €182 for 2 nights, breakfast not incl., takes min. €10 for pers./day
